COLLECTIONS PROJECT
FRAGMENTED
Fragmented is a collections project I completed during my GDMA program. The project focuses on the fragmented history children learn in grade school and the trauma associated with it. Using historic photographs, the interpretive I used were metal tubes, used as telescopes with one of the historic photographs at the end. The representation is meant to symbolize the disconnected black history we learn growing up.
On the outside of the tube, there's an explanation of the photograph on the inside. The inside of the tube is spray painted red.
